Lynn (Wiebe) Smith is a four time College National Finals Rodeo qualifier.  She placed in at least one round each year that she competed at the CNFR.  In 1998 her hard work paid off~ BIG!  She won the National Intercollegiate Breakaway Roping, Goat Tying and All Around Championship titles and placed the Central Wyoming College Women's Rodeo Team third in the Nation single handedly. To date, Lynn is the only competitor in college rodeo to win three national titles in one year.

After college Lynn continued to compete in the Goat Tying and Breakaway Roping through the Northwest Ranch Cowboys Rodeo Association.  She has won the NRCA Finals Goat Tying Championship in 1999, 2000 and 2001. And has qualified for the NRCA finals in 2002 and 2008 as well.

The fall of 2000, Lynn joined with the Central Wyoming College Rodeo Program again as the Women's Rodeo Coach. The CWC Women's Team are four time Central Rocky Mountain Regional Champions in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005. In 2004, the CWC women's team placed 3rd Nationally, with National Champion Breakaway Roper, Daysha Hulme leading the team in points.  In 2009, Jessica Pichietti was crowned National Champion Breakaway Roper and lead the CWC Women's Team to a 10th place finish.

Today, Lynn currently continues to coach, instruct clinics, compete and helps prepare geldings for their family's annual Quarter Horse Sales. Through experience in preparation for the family's horse sales, Lynn has gained a better understanding of the relationship between horsemanship and competitive rodeo equine athlete.

Lynn instructs several goat tying clinics throughout the year nation-wide, sharing her knowledge, experiences and skills with her students.  From her own continued success and that of her students, this technique has been proven a winner!
